The D16V1 Engine:

- This is a SOHC VTEC.
- Shares some parts with D17A1 and D17A2.
- Plastic intake manifold.
- Downdraft throttle body.
- Exhaust manifold to front intake manifold at back, like previous D16.

There are some aftermarket parts available specifically for this engine and a lot of parts from the D17 will fit.

Air filter and Induction Kits.

Chips

Dastek have the Unichip which can fit on the EP2, they also have a VTEC module for the Unichip that will allow VTEC engagement point adjustment.

Apexi produce the VAFC and VAFCii (VAFC2) which is a VTEC Air fuel mixture Controller.
This can change the VTEC engagement point and the air fule mixture over the Non-VTEC part/full and VTEC part/full Fuel maps.

Forced Induction can be split into 3 main areas Turbo, Supercharger and Nitrous Oxide Injection.

Impossible Performance have a turbo kit for the D17 engine that may well fit the D16 check it out here.
