LMAO! I would love that too!

Its silly though:

- The middle lane users tend to travel at 70MPH which is the maximum speed on motorways. to overtake those on the middlelane the right lane user would have to travel at least 80-90MPH.

- Most people travel around 80MPH.

- If your cautious enough, you can spot a camera van hiding on the bridge at quite a far distance.

- The police cars dont really follow the speed regulations when they're just roaming. I've seem some hit 90-100MPH just roaming on the motorway.

- Most likely the reason for not having 100MPH is the increase of stopping distance and thinking time. I mean, as your all not learners anymore you do not pay 100% attention to the road do you? We all drive in a relax manner expecting nothing to happen.

------

Overall I think a speed limit of 80-85MPH is more reasonable Tongue hehehe

Although I am surprised I am not even caught yet as I usually bomb it through the motorway doing 80-100MPH, lol.

Also, if you ever get caught doing 100MPH, its an automatic ban.

Ban speed detection devices so we can concentrate on diving instead of always being on the lookout! Then we can have faster speed limits because our concentration is entirely on the road!
Aren't the thinking of LOWERING the speed limits now???

lowering or upping speed limits wouldnt change how fast people went anyway. Its 70 now, but people go up to 120+ regardless

i do loads of motorway driving in my job and never do the limits on the motorways, i know what to look out for and where to look etc.  i do 80-100 (vauxhall combo - not the fastest thing in the world lol, oh and dont like hills!) .  you would get away with 80.  if they uped the limits people wil always go that extra 10mph more!

I have to agree.  I am in the 90mph catergory.  I do try to keep below 100mph but at 2am coming back from the Mrs, I love flooring it.  Doing 80+ by the time I get on the motorway and just keep going.  I have had over 120mph with current setup, although the last 20mph takes an age lol.

Raise the speed limit, people will push it further.  80mph limit, I would do 95mph. . . . . Maybe when I am older and more relaxed with a less 'rush' mentality I may think different. . . . . . . . .

Buy 1 of these.

it was about 7pm, on my way back from cheltenham to worcester on the m5 about 12 weeks ago.
its only a short motorway blip and the motorway was dead.
hence the 120mph i was doing lol.
suddenly my radar detector started going mad and warned of a mobile speed camera, so i jammed on the anchors to 70mph lol, as i approached the next overhead bridge there it was, a mobile camera van.
if i hadnt of had this detector i would of lost my licence 4 sure, had a massive fine for sure and even faced a prison sentence.

i have tried many detectors such as
snooper
road angel
and now this 1.
it is buy far the best.

Where i live its mainly unmarked cars you need to look out for. There is no detection device for these and therefore you can still easily get caught doing 120mph. There are no fixed speed cameras in Fife either Grin and i cant remember the last time i even seen a mobile speed camera.
