Feel that we could do with another admin though,  dunno if it would be a admin thing like, but the forum was down all weekend.  and maybe if we had sumone to check the site more it'd be better and keep, up etc.  me and nicky where talking ( a bad thing i know Wink )  and we feel that teh fourm needs a admin who visits more often.  just an idea. and no offence meant to halfloaf. or anyone Smiley

lots of love

yeah no offence Halfloaf, but I think your love for the site isn`t what it used to be, and we would all benefit from more a devoted admin, and someone who will get these makeover ideas into action
And cheers for the kisses elf

Sounds good, as long as Nicky and Elf dont turn it into some kind of Gay Love Convention.
I must say though that most of the Makeover ideas consist of adding more Forum Sections which I really dont like because it is then easier for posts to get lost.
Take a look at 7thgencivic.com now it is a right mess since all the extra sections got added.
I think that the number of sections we have is about right for the number of active members.
Too many sections and urgent posts like Help Requests, For Sale posts and Events get missed unless everyone checks every section or uses the 'Posts since last login' button. That button loses its effect if using 2 pcs too.
Too few sections and Posts/Threads roll off the first page too quick.

I dont think the posts here roll off the page too quick. With good use of the sticky option any Thread that needs to stay in view will.

As for the Downtime over the weekend I called F2S and they told me it was getting moved to a new server, so I imagine most of the downtime was the DNS servers not having the new Address.

The option is there for a new Admin to be added.

i totaly agree with the more sections bit mate.. i feel the forum has the perfect amount.  for the reasons you said above, i think it would just be making the forum better, looking and friendly etc.  i personly wouldnt add any more sections.  dont know if i'd be up for the job but know ballsy wants to do it, would gladly give it a go though!

I agree that the number of forums at the moment is pretty much spot on. All the site needs is a makeover to make it visually more appealing. Thats the one thing thats seriously lacking.

It really wouldn't take much to take the site up a gear or two.

I digged your prototype Gav, maybe we should start a topic, with links for yours and Ballsy`s makeovers, and start a poll to decide the winner
Bunz` (Playboy bunnie) makeover was nice also, but as she said, we`d have to pay for her time
