Pointless shutting the forum down, its a great resource aslong as barriers are in place. I myself have contributed over a thousend posts, and i hope that over 90% of the content i have posted has been useful to people.
At the end of the day halfloaf is the chief and its down to him.(noted halfloafs update)

Its all these newcomers to this site like Ray, Nicky etc, that are talking about the site as if they have been here since it has started.
Us old-timers (this is my second username btw) have built this site up, and added all the content ourselves, and we wont just move over to another site because it looks better. We've had a Anthrax_U spamming for about 10 days, and he has now been banned. I feel this is only a minor glitch, not enough to make me move anyway.
Im pretty glad Ray and that have left, as most of there posts were spam. This site was fine till all these moaning bitches joined, and now theyve left I hope it returns to the way it was.
Rant Over.
ps, HalfLoaf make me a mod, I dont mind taking 10 mins to delete spam, its hardly a difficult task.

cheers mate, that shows what fucking appreciation members get for being here. i havent posted one bad topic or post, ive offered to make a homepage, ive moderated the forums deleting porn, and still i get pissed and moaned on for being, what, helpful? sorry man but you got a shit argument there. i dont claim to be the greatest member or longest, just another guy interested in civics. I aint done nothing wrong and the reason for the move was because it seemed halfloaf had gone, not because i thought anything bad of this site or anything. the move wasnt because the other place was pretty at all, it was because it had counter measures for spammers and also has a great admin who is on everyday and listens to our ideas and suggestions and implements them straight away. no dissing halfloaf as i hardly know him and so he may be a busy guy but hope he can see where i am coming from.
EP2, your rants finished, now shut it lol

i agree and disagree with both parties - in that i do think the whole new forum thing has been rushed upon us ever so quickly, but then maybe a change would be good, to keep things fresh and up to date.
i'm perfectly happy with the way this forum runs, just be more harsh on bullshitters!
maybe have a spam report area, then other people can work for the mods, to help them out by reporting sam when they read it. then the mods can just check the spam zone and delete members accordingly, rather than trawling through the whole forum.
this is our forum, use it or lose it!

that isnt the problem really, i love this forum for all the members and information it holds its just the spammers. i came and checked the site for 3 days straight, and for 3 days straight i spent altogether about half an hour each day deleting porn and spam which isnt what you want to do when you come on a forum. why does this forum have spammers at all? ive been on some forums where they have zero spam.

Ray no offense mate, but youve been a member for 1 month, was normal week 1, moaned during week2, moaned some more and had a topic about renaming/moving the site week 3, week 4 moves to new site and moans some more about this one.

I think people have reasons to be pissed and move as Halfloaf does seem to react rather slowly to problems of the forum (nothing new, it had been somewhat like that since the very beginning).
However, I am quite disappointed with some mods by the way they had in numerous occasions expressly encouraged members of this forum to leave this site for the other. I think that could be considered a betrayal to Halfloaf for making them mods in the first place and lacks the ethics of being a mod - which is to be loyal and encouraging to the site and its members, and not to step on it and discourage other members from staying. If you don't like the site no more, surrender your position as a mod and just leave - don't go around encouraging people to abandon this site for the other. I myself joined the new forum but I am still here and have no intention of abandoning this one for good nor would I want it to be shut down.
Although I will also blame Halfloaf for this (sorry mate, this is nothing personal, just being honest!) as I think he was way too lenient in picking new mods back then. I mean, anyone who was desperate enough to nominate themselves to be a mod was automatically made a mod? Its no surprise the quality of the new mods' ethics turned out to be questionable. (btw, this is not directed to ALL the new mods, I know some had been good)
My 0.2p.
P.S. My post is about the ethics and morals of a mod, not how much work they had done for the site. So if anyone dares to come and try to counter argue my post by saying that they had done this and done that to try to keep the spammers away or whatever then you do not get my point and will be ignored.
