Hi!I'm a happy owner of a Sport Civic ep2 with the following mods:
BMC CDA air filter,48mm cat back exhaust and AROSPEED ground wires.
I'm planning of changing the stock intake header with a Skunk2 and the exhaust header with the bisimoto one.I'm facing problems with the ECU remapping as noone can tune it.Asked hondata for a reflash and they need the ECU P/N.Does anybody know it?In case of not being able to remmap the stock ECU i'm planning to swap with the AEM EMS.Has anybody tried it yet?
PS.What happened with the crower cam?Do they have one for the V1?

bisimoto header ? for D16V1 (or D17A2)? Will have to check
skunk2 intake for D16V1 (or D17A2) ? that is something new ?

Remaping: people say no go, the chip in ECU is not remappable (becouse it is ROM so no go). O, processor has the ROM integrate on die and it is not external (so people say that are "playing" with this ECU).
I am looking for a good spec for the processor to check if external RAM could be added.
Processor is no longer made, but in China they make replacement for this processorso. For more info go to forum on http://www.pgmfi.org/ under OBD II.

crower has V1 cam, go to www.truehonda.com or www.dezod.com

AEM EMS is a lot of money for a small mod. 1200$ with www.robearracing.com

Try www.dastek.co.uk for Unichip or use E-Manage or VAFC2

Yeah, that's why I told you about a reflash. As far as I know all D16 engines have the same bolt pattern and threading on the intake and exhaust manifolds.I think that it's also the same for the D17.Not sure though.
PS.What is the V1 cam?Do you have the cam's P/N?

The new D16 (D16V1, D17A2) don't have the same patherns then the old D16. If you want the old intake from D16Z8, you can fit-it, but you need to modifie some holes to fit the D16V1.

CROWER CAM spec.

Crower Stage 1: $379
Crower Stage 2 Turbo Spec: $379
Crower Stage 2 NA Spec: $379
Crower Stage 3 Race Spec: $379
Crower Valvespring + Retainer Set: $302
Crower Rods: $699

I must say.. its very tempting looking at those prices..  Cant think of a better way to spend money on the car!

Any idea on the kind of gains for a stage 2 upgrade?

10-15 whp with ecu "remapimg" (e-manage) , but this is for D17A2. And people are say it could make more if you move rev limiter to 8000.
look at www.7thgencivic. com on forum for more info.

no one tried on D16V1. I think a bit more becouse it has 10.4:1 compression.

Thanks for that.

Time for more research I think Sad

One thing I hate doing is engine work - so if anyone can recommend a company in south Wales it would be appreciated... a quote or two couldn’t hurt.. or could it

Those rods are for the D17?If they are shorter the displacement increases, right?
What about the EMS?Does anybody know anything about that?Don't like piggybacks,I want to rev up to 7800

NO the rods are of equal length, the are only stronger. For lovering compression they also sell forget pistons.

1300$ + p&p from US. That is the biggest problem, plus you have to leave the original ECU in becouse A/C.

People say it works fine if you have the last version of software on.
