so, i finally ordered my manifold from JPerformance. it came pretty quickly and i was well impressed when i opened the box.

Fitting wasn't too bad, got a mate to help me as he's got the right tools to get the car in the air so theres enough space to get underneath.
The bolts holding the original manifold in place are on seriously tight. so when taking them off make sure you dont round off the bolt/nuts. theres 5 bolts at the top, and 2 bolts holding the manifold to the downpipe which have to be unbolted from underneath.

top bolts

left bolt connecting to downpipe

right bolt connecting to downpipe

first thing to take off is the heat sheild, thats the first 2 bolts that you see right in front of you.

once off you should see the other 3 bolts under the pipes. remove these 3 aswell

next you want to undo the 2 bolts holding the manifold to the downpipe. you'll have to get at these from under the car. unfortunately i didn't manage to get any pictures of this part. but its 2 bolts with springs on them just undo.

once downpipe bolts removed, take off the old manifold and gaskets and put in place the nice, new shiny one along with new gaskets.

put the 5 bolts back in the top and the 2 spring bolts that connect the downpipe to the manifold and you're all done!

a nice new shiny, bigger bore manifold. you should get a few more horses out of that. now waiting for remap and then dyno run.

Nice work there!

Those Manifolds look mint. Did you notice the internal welds on the std manifold, it is so much smaller than the exhaust port. There is a similar restriction in the downpipe just before the cat. Well worth getting rid of.

I think £200 isn't too bad for a High flow cat.
Changing the cat back in for MOT would be a pain pretty quick IMO.

Do you have downpipes for our civics that don't replace the cat?

okey, i want this thing! BUT...
http://www.cardomain.com/member_pages/show_image.pl?bg=FFFFFF&image=http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/10/web/2650000-2650999/2650438_15_full.jpg here you see that engine looks the same, just that its D16w7, (and its Sedan, but it does not count), so as i understand this jperformance manifold will fit mine engine, as even manifolds D17 fits D16, right?

Quick q.

Where can I get the gaskets from? Do they have to be from honda, and how much roughly would they cost?
Also, to make sure, is this a straight replacement, as in I don't have to change my downpipe or anyhting right?

Thanks

mine came with the gaskets so didn't have to buy any seperate.

this manifold is a direct swap, so you dont need to change anything.

About to do the same myself  Grin

Question: Since you have no form of heat shield, would this not increase the heat soak with an aftermarket air filter like K&N? Are there any other downsides to leaving them exposed since they look sweet, although if it were to affect performance, then heat shield all the way  Grin
