hey guys

well this is my first post and iv got a bit of a dilema, sorry if this has been repeated before but needed some help

my passenger side shocker is damaged and after ringing a few places iv been getting quote of around £75 just for the shocker
now i was thinking shall i just invest in a coilover set now or just buy the shocker

anyone know what the actuall prices are on a sport facelift shocker and how much a decent coilover kit will set me back

any help would be much appreciated

£700 will get u a wicked set of Eibachs. but u can get some other brands for less money. but different brands offer different ride qualities. either way - expect it to be quite a bit firmer than it is now.

the tein's are a good bit of kit, but i dont think the basic's adjust in height - so it'll be a fixed height ride. u could prob get some daiyama ones for the same price tho, they will adjust in height. or you could get some megan coils.

or you could just uprate ur shocks and buy some springs?

yeh my car is at standard ride height and i will want some coilover as i want to put some 18'' alloys on it and want them to sit in the arch

my cousen has a performance part shop so if i can get the name of some decent coilovers i can get them at trade price
thanks for the link but do you have any for the daiyama or the megan ones

and i dont want a rock solid ride i want a smooth one so which will be the best to go for

if its a direct replacement then you should be able to get away with using ur standard springs - but it aint much more lowering ones mate. if ur going for 18s u may aswell drop it 30-35mm mate. save the fitter taking apart ur suspension again. u can drop the front without dropping the back - or u could leave the back for later on.

but you can get non adjustable suspension kits that lower the car about 30-35mm which arnt that bad of a price, but i would prefer a adjustable kit as i wont be getting the wheels straight away and want the lowered effect once the wheels are on not before but the price on coilovers is a bit too much for me at the moment

i know standard shocks with springs is not a good combination but what about the non adjustable suspension kits are they actually any good
and could i get anything that is adjustable for around 300-400 or am i just pushing it also there arnt anything for the sport so will i have to order type r suspension kits
thanks for all the help so far mate
