Yeah, It just unscrews.
But, not sure if yours will be the same, but my original one had like a clip which connects the know to the gator to keep the gator up........But, I upgraded my centre console to a type-r silver one, which included the type-r gator.....which dont need clips, it just has a shiney silver ring at the top of it! you'll have to check to see which type you've got.

Yep, I chose the sound! I do long journeys quite a lot, so didnt want the 'boy racer' noise which you hear a lot! Its noticable ive got it on compared to the stock one, but still no silly loud. Powerflow also do custom jobs.......not sure if you can pick your sound there though. But ive heard a LOT of bad press about them tbh. I know dynax had one made from there, and he was please.....but then again, he's now taken it off, so I dont know. I looked in to powerflow as they were a bit cheaper, but the quality of Longlife is brilliant.....plus a Lifetime guarentee......which you deffo cant complain about!

hopefully i'll be getting a custom exhaust after xmas, i won't be going to powerflow tho as i've heard too many bad things about them, longlife seem to be the best place for me.
