my car failed its m.o.t today on emissions and i don;t know why?! all i done is fitted an aem cold air intake system in and removed the original back box and the rear silencer nxt to the back box!
any1 else have had tht problem before?

There could be any reason for it to fail the MOT on emissions.
Dirty air filter, faulty cat, faulty oxygen sensor, incorrectly gaped spark plugs etc, the list goes on...

I very much doubt your exhaust or intake would be to blame. It may be worth taking it to a garage or getting the MOT station to find the fault.

what does your exhaust sound like m8 with the rear silencer part removed, how much did it cost an what you get from doing that?

lol it sounds lush i got the back box for 60 quid off motor world i know cheap skate but it sounds like a full system. i fink as having a low power car no point spending 400 odd quid on a full system cuz it probs dont gain tht much power so cost me 40 quid to remove rear silencer and he weilded it on. but thing is can get too noisy but ths wot a silencer is for!

so is it the exhaust which already come son the facelift ep2? (twin tail pipe) an uve had the silencer box removed , its not loud like a buddyclub exhaust is it. See i like the look of our twin tail pipe exhausts but would like a bit mroe of a roar from it. To do this would i only need the silencer removed, how loud is it exactly not deafening?

no i removed the twin ppe and got a jap stle afterarket exhaust cheapy one but still does the job sounds goood and my rear silencer has been removed and replaced with a scaffolding pipe lol. if im honest it is defening on the motorways wen ur going bout 70mph but wen u get past 95mph its not that loud weird. but it does sound good i take some videos of it and gve me ur emil and i send it if u want.
