Brake Noise

Happened a few days ago and was wondering if anyone knows what it is. When the car is moving a grinding kind of noise can be heard from the front brake on drivers side. When brakes are applied the noise goes. I was thinking the pad is still making slight contact with the disc while the car is in motion or something? I checked the pads and they seem fine above 1.5mm material left anyways.

this happend to me..... check the shims mate.. they are the wee metal holders that hold the pads on tight......

if there damaged the pads are not held in securely and can damage the pads.. i had to get new pads as mines were fooked...

the shims arent sold seperatly.. usually need 2 buy a whole set of disks and pads to get them from honda.. but ma mate just nicked a set for me as he works at the parts section at honda

Ahh ic, I was going to change the pads myself on tuesday anyhow so hopefully i got the shims too. Will let ya know what i discover once I replace it.

So I went to my car, got the jack out and everything...As i put the jack under the car it wouldn't fit!! Eibach springs eh.. Anyway I just had to visually inspect and noticed there was markings on the actual brake disk. So I am going to have to change discs and pads. I think coming off the motorway and then driving into snow must have warped the discs because when I think back to it, thats when the problem started. Should I get some EBC discs or any other aftermarket ones or stick to bog standards?

Got my brakes changed, just went to a garage because I have a big lack of tools. Some of the brake pads were worn badly. One was all the way down to the metal -.-'
Anyway I put EBC discs on and Nippon pads which I bought ages ago and all is good now.

yeah and they don't need them stupid metal things...best pads and discs yet. till this day I haven't driven a car with better stopping power than mine...also high quality break fluid with a HIGH HIGH boiling point is another missed factor when it comes to good breaks. I did have a similar problem to you, now all is well.

take them to get a free brake test and they will tell you whats wrong if they notice the noise.

mine was making a noise on the driver rear and honda just gave them a clean and the noise went away.
