Fine Scratches

well guys the thing we all dread is scratches.ive got a black ep2 and coming from and to work i have to go through this narrow road where theres alot of bushes and winter coming the branches keep hitting my car.at one point i got out and snaped them but on my own cant do the whole road lol.so wanted to know any tips how to repair them or at least make them less visible they look like FINE white hair lines.some around the door handles.

i got those on the bit just above my door.

2 choices:

1 - megeuirs scratch X

2 - T Cut

i've tried the scratch x and it works temporarily. i wanna try the t-cut way and see if that makes a difference. it was good at blending in fine scratches and removing traded paint on my dad and sister's cars so it may help to blend in lightly on that bit of my car.

the best way to cure this is to get extra fine wet sandpaper (P2000) which u jus wet the sandpaper and rub out the scratches but try not 2 rub too much or ul rub through the paint! then wen u think the scratches are out get an electric polisher and some polish (G3 is what i use). smere the polish on the targeted area and buff it out with the polisher once again being careful not 2 buff through the paint! this can also be done by hand bt takes twice as long and you dont get as good a finish.

cheers for that info but thats looks scary to do. looks to profesional for me lol i think il stick to t-cut or similar wish i could do all that buffering and stuff but just to scared especily when i hear sand paper lol

tcut doesnt break down and doesnt give the best outcome. www.detailingworld.co.uk would be the best place to look.

Milano's way is the best way. but if u mess it up its gonna b costly, or at least painstaking to fix.

What sort of electric buffer do you use ?

I would just try to polish them out before you do something like sandpaper and stuff...
Just get a good polish first and take your time, probably gonna need an electric polish machine tho.
Maybe a guy who details cars for a living can do it for you if you can't get them out by hand.

iv used both G3 and t-cut... G3 worked really well for me... as long as you polish the car once you av rid of the scratch... i cant realy get the hang of t-cut, but 1 my mates thinks its better then G3... so different people av different veiws.
but whatever your planning on using... my advice is, go out and buy an electric buffer, its wayyy to much hand graft, iv seen a cheap cigarette lighter buffer for 20 quid and a more powerful plug socket buffer for 30 quid in halfords, so i might get 1 soon.
