Right guys..its that time again when I need to be looking at 2 new tyres to replace the fronts then onto the rears..
At the moment i have 4 x Lassa Impetus 2 all round which have been good..These are 205/50/16..I know a lot of people like the Toyo brand which I have enjoyed in the past..I fancy the T1-R which sounds good..also quite a few people recommend me gettin a different size tyre - 205/45/16..I've checked the tyre caluculator n stuff but cant really understand it hehe I went from my standard 195/60/15 to my now 205/50/16 would be alright to get 205/45/16 jus for the rears or is this not advisable? *lol*

I really don't see the point in going to thinner rubber. I can say that I definitely will not get 40's again for my 17" summer wheels. They knock your teeth out. I suggest getting as thick as you can fit. Comfort... mmm Smiley

But yeah, to the topic. I'm going to order the Toyo Proxes T1-R tyres, the same you're eyeing. I've read good things about it and they're not that expensive either. As an alternative I might consider Pirelli P-Zeros.

Depends on your budget tbh, i have had T1R's for a while now feel they offer best value for money - decent dry grip, excellent wet grip, will do 15k+ on the rears and at ~£55 each for 205/50/16 - i can't complain.

If you're after something different at a good price; i've heard good things about these too:

i'd personally never buy budget and can't justify the benefits of premium brands like Michelin, Continental, etc on an EP2.

I've used Kumho KU31's for a couple of years now.
I'm very happy with them, grip well once they have scrubbed in, just take it easy for the first 500 miles.
Mine cost about £60 a corner in 205/45/17.  Wink

I only got these current Lassa's coz they are made by Bridgestone which are our original tyre for the car..

So I'm guessin its not a good idea to change sizes then?

I'll probably just get some T1-R's n see how they are..I had some Toyo CF1's before which were good..

Anyways will keep ya's posted when I do get new tyres..Is it ok buyin from websites tho? I think I'd prefer to buy from tyre places as they can balance n stuff there..

Why don't you buy them online if they are cheaper, then take them to the tyre fitters to have them put on and balanced?
That's what i have done in the past...

Camskill, as stated above.

You can always ask them for a price. They shouldn't give you any funny looks. You tell them you'll get your tyres cheaper from somewhere else, and they'll give you their best offer (which usually isn't even close to a web price).
Now, a true business will tell you to buy your tyres where they're the cheapest and bring them with you to be fitted. That's what a good business is. At least that's what I tell my clients Smiley

I have uniroyals on the front of mine, they have lasted 2 years but they are now down to 3mm, they are a bit pricy £150 a tyre 215/25/17 but well worth it, gonna have a go with toyo proxy's as they are on my evo and work very well

finally bought my tyres - 2 x Toyo Proxes T1-R - 205/50/16 are now on the rear and from what I've experienced from driving back is that they feel more solid than my Lassa's which are now on the front..not expensive either..well for down South anyways..treads look awesome too..

Why don't you keep your lassas at the back and the toyo's at the front? Toyo's give better grip, and it's grip in the front you want Wink
So change them over.

I have Pirelli pzero nero's on my 17's and i am happy with them Smiley

Ohyeah, standard size is 205/55/16 Wink so your speedo will be off a bit.

I usually always get new tyres for the front and them to swap it over as I prefer newer tyres at rear..

also my original 15" Alloys were 195/60/15 so I was told 205/50/16 were the closest to them and also those were the sizes that were on my reps when I got them..

Another thing I'm gettin some vibrations on the front now when I go certain speeds..probably not balanced correctly? my lassa's were on the rear which are now on the front..
