Hello all,
I have two mates coming all the way from the United States to visit me in March.  They want to have a good time, have some good food, do some shopping, karting, sightseeing, drinking etc.  I live in Stoke-on-Trent, so not necessarily the best place for them to sightsee nor to spend their vacation   .  Since I myself am not that familiar with England, I need some advice on where to take them to do the above.  Am willing to drive around.  We are going to visit London, so that won't be a problem as i am somewhat familiar.  Manchester would also be a key spot, know of some good restaurants there and clubs/bars (but mostly around Oxford Road really, anyone got any advice for other activities/places in Manchester?) there.  Am thinking of places like Nottingham, Birmingham or anywhere in the Midlands worthy for a visit (again, open to recommendations).
We will also be going to Scotland - some of you may remember I had posted asking about Scotland before, but we didn't make it there in the end because there was this rugby game that weekend and all the hotels were fully booked   .  So again, recommendation is needed for Glasgow area.  I want to know specific places.
So just please give some specific recommendations (e.g. "restaurant xxx on xxx street in xxx is very good" or "the karting mall at xxx is very good")  My friends and I are a bunch of university students, so please keep that in mind, and don't refrain from giving us some wild ideas  .
I had tried searching around the net and found some useful stuff, but just want some more opinions.  Thanks!
