seen one this big. It comes in navy and “lipstick”
patent leather. If you actually need one this big,
it’s a cute and smart looking option, (with adorable
floral print lining) but do make sure that you
yourself are large enough to pull off carrying such a
huge bag. It could look comical on a smaller gal! $478 at Nordstroms

Furla Giselle Shopper November 7th, 2006
This is the Giselle Shopper from Furla. Furla is a
somewhat conventional Italian designer, and that can
be useful when looking for a reasonably priced every
day bag. This is such a bag. It’s about as elegant
as you’ll get from Furla, and it’s casual enough for
daily use. The shape is handy too. It’s simple but
attractive. Contrasting top-stitching adorns the
handles and the leather hanging tie with the silver
logo disc at the end is a nice touch. Saks sells this
one for 390.

This Hello Kitty Boombox Tote is a clever idea and a
cute look for someone who is Hello Kitty obsessed and
doesn’t care to hide it. It has an adorable Hello
Kitty patch on the front and no adornment on the back.
This music themed bag actually has built-in speakers,
a headphone jack and volume control! (It claims to be
compatible with any audio electric player that uses a
3.5 mm headphone jack.) The cute and retro metallic
vinyl, the colorful stars and music notes and the use
of pink vinyl with silver trim are a fun combination.

This is a fun new key chain from Louis Vuitton. The
Multicolore Pastilles Key Chain is a new piece, and
wonderful because it can be used simply as a key
chain,
Coach, but can also be used as a bag charm since it
can be clipped on to most metal hardware on Louis
Vuitton’s Monogram and Damier handbags. Personally, I
think it looks best on the Monogram Vernis (either the
Houston or the Brentwood). So if you get this, you’ll
have to treat yourself to a new Louis Vuitton bag to
hang it on! The key chain sells for 375. The charms
are made from zamack and enamel.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Pretty Nylon Shopper October 23rd, 2006
OK, I normally look for the good in Marc by Marc
Jacobs, and tend to find it at least half of the time,
but this “Pretty Nylon Shopper” looks like it should
be in a bin at Old Navy selling for 13 dollars. Is
that a bird carrying (or being carried by) balloons
under a cloud? Sure, that’s what I want pictured on
my bag. If you disagree with me and must have one, or
want to buy your enemy a birthday present, this
shopper sells for 178 dollars. It also comes in brown
with lavender polka dots.

I like this Hobo from Marc by Marc Jacobs. It’s a
classic over-sized hobo,
Chanel Handbags, and a really great casual bag
for daily use. I like the long leather zipper pull
with the antiqued silver metal hardware at the end.
The soft, grained leather gives this hobo bag just the
right texture. This hobo comes in desert tan as well
as black. Also notable is that is has print cotton
lining (and a cell phone pocket internally!). This
bag sells for 428.

Mulberry Sheepskin Bayswater Bag October 23rd, 2006
The Mulberry Sheepskin Bayswater Bag is a fabulous
shoulder bag for Fall and Winter. I love the
sheepskin trim as well as the leaf charm (which hides
a padlock that can be used on the clasp). The dark
brown leather straps on the bag have a dark purple
design stitched over them that adds some subtle
detailing. I think this is a beautiful bag. It costs
1,595.
